MY COMMENTS TO OTHERS WITHOUT CONTEXT-repost...

Comments. Oh come on. Y’all recall those pre- “like spam” anachronisms, don’t ya? Well, since I’ve got nothing but a hangover going I’m going to recycle a few of those old fashion givebacks and shall do so with out context. For those of you scoring out there, be mindful, it’s not only about style points but a degree of difficulty to consider.

Hey, as any self-respecting autodidact is apt to do, I go loudly quiet when asked to chirp on, and then quickly resort to parroting others to furthering a point that I’ve previous proffered. But since it is a silent night here in Chicago I’m feeling surprisingly comfortable in my understandings, and with some solid sipping whiskey suggesting I should share. Well, shame on me, sad for you.

I think there is nothing more postmodern than demanding that mass culture must be made to understand that “Just the facts, ma’am,” don’t- matter.

The Modern Age-“enlightenment” aside, or due to, proved facts fungible. And Walter Lippman’s farm women will never have a view to verify the sure thing that move priest and political leaders to wager our hearth and homestead, and often in her name.

—SO—

So a new reason season seeks to rescue Pollyanna and if you doubt Freberg’s Post-Modern Chops listen again to his “The Old Payola Roll Blues.” As discordant as he suggest that Rock And Roll be, the cacophony of jazz/swing at the end of the piece suggest “all is” auto-tuned to crass, cash, and carry…anywho..

May I suggest the work is actually a parody of mass culture “pushback” that the middlebrow took many a bow throughout the folic of those fifties. Which makes it a parody of a parody, which moves our man Stan from the mere postmodern to all this Meta Magic we so happily enjoy today.

That last bit reads a bit like that Booker’s bourbon has begun to bite. So good night and Merry Christmas, you christian, democrat, dilettante, you.

The price of omission fluctuates in a political culture that makes negation a commodity. From the Texas Schoolbook schism to NYT’s Judith Miller acting the shill to an administration of government that actually believed it could create its own reality. And any revisit of a historic this or that begs for academic and ideological revanchism, a certainty so certain that you can’t help but smell the publicist behind the proposed, “Let’s take a new look and see.”

I don’t think you’re whining. I feel you are doing math in the movement, publicly. Is there some angst in this algebra. Sure. Is it a calculus inconsolable? Often, I would imagine, that might approximate the bottom line. But summing up the present to take stock in the future is a necessary evil of adult due diligence. And without any preamble of apology required. You’re working the numbers of a mind numbing, heart wrenching equation, with all the past dues and in the arrears that living a life tallies. And the real sin is, that’s the only thing you can put down on the ledger with certainty; the past.

But wait. There is your capacity to love. Which gracefully shines throughout this piece. And while love may not conquer all, it’s definitely a variable that has bottom-lined many a problem. Good luck with yours.

All you write above is true, yet anecdotal. And I’m sympathetic to the notion the utility of mass street protest had begun to stumbled to the end of its effective shelf life. ( A really subjective call) But I’m also mindful that professional agitators, left and right, and with far different agendas than the current “cause” have infected protest whenever possibly, and likely put disruptive practices in play. So a time limit on assembly and grievances shouldn’t be subject to the guerrilla logic of, you’ve got the watches, but we’ve got the time.

But any sense of ballast between citizens and the thin blue line was blown deeper into troubled waters with the assassination of two police officers, and the follow on race bating remarks by the police union head of NYC finest, as well as that noun, verb, and nutcase formerly known as “America’s Mayor.”

Perhaps the protest did touch some demon touring the killer’s mind, but the vast majority seek sane solutions and what we see, and what we say should not be subject to the whim of crazy, North Korea, or narcissistic political players.

Early on, when the Teetotaler-In-Chief toasted Covid 19 as a hoax, half the damn nation became intoxicated by this idiocy. The buzz was out of the bottle.
And the drunken disinformation continues to this very day.

So no way would going all temperance, even temporarily, would’ve made a garnish of difference in this cocktail of incompetence.

“point of lock down to protect the majority?” Maybe ….more likey Markets, which in reality protects the majority. But I fear any recovery won’t be a V, or a W, but a mid eighties neoliberal like (K) shaped bounce back.

Nice post. Bye Bye.
