Spring Training For NaPoWriMo April 2020.

Fated

And that was a Bar, that a Bookstore,
there a Flower shop-

And just passed by the Bakery-
You can still smell it, sorta-

And there, a Dry Cleaners, and Wedding
Photographer, gone-

And here, some kind of “build it and they will
come,” Notions store-
next to the Hardware Store
that hung on, but ghosted a month ago,
or so-

Along with that fish Taco place that briefly
trended and then an adios-

and the Pizza Place that had the balls and
street cred to call itself a Pizzeria –
A sign still hangs but the lettering’s faded

About the author

r.douglas

I’m spry yet retired. I reside in the inner city of a major metropolitan area of the United States. I read politics. I watch baseball. I hum along with the tune. I June swoon, and moon the bad poem. Post here, are old and new. Opinions are my very own, except when wrong.

Comments? Cool!
