September

September

inglorious simple
daze of dimming
and nights of after
thought sweaters
or an out of shape jacket
with an erratic zipper
That won’t give up the ghost

September

host to shadows
that host other shadows
hangers on, like that summer song
that didn’t quite signature

September

Unlike the triplets that follow

September

corrals, but doesn’t chorus
that swan song, hamstrung
between back to school
and the harmonic fool of
Auld Lang Syne

I’m spry yet retired. I reside in the inner city of a major metropolitan area of the United States. I read politics. I watch baseball. I hum along with the tune. I June swoon, and moon the bad poem. Post here, are old and new. Opinions are my very own, except when wrong.
