Ex-Pat in Patent Leather

1 min read

I should have run
for the border
when I spied this
New Order,
but we all shy
from circumstance
and segue

And all things
being equal,
which they never
are

I could have gotten
far, and enough
away
to procure
a practical
hideaway

to sip some local
with locals in
an international
cafe

where
I’d pen
my list of
particulars–

from Portugal–

angry items,
And agitprop
And each
postmarked,
Lisbon

I’m spry yet retired. I reside in the inner city of a major metropolitan area of the United States. I read politics. I watch baseball. I hum along with the tune. I June swoon, and moon the bad poem. Post here, are old and new. Opinions are my very own, except when wrong.

Comments? Cool!
