Falling Off The Bandwagon

An aging hipster
in the public
square
spies a comely
CO-ED

He watches her
chant the cant
of this protest
de’jour
admiring her
figure and faith
in the system

and earbuds soundtrack
his witness
some catchy chorus
about some common
angst

and when that
refrain returns
he’s convicted
she’s an Angel
of his civic
religion
