  1. Spectacular, Doug–cleverly shaped, but more, with “and the rain / and the gray / and the reruns / of rain and gray” so dang monotonously perfect.

    Sorry to hear about the dog, the tumor, and the mother, too. I hope this April has been kinder to ya.

    1. I love it when you write ” Spectacular.” Thanks. This wrote itself. All of about three minutes. And for that clever shape…After I pasted it to the editor, I hit the indent center toggle inadvertently and said wow. And yes a much better April. New big moose like puppy who likes to listen to night baseball with me on our inner city deck.

  2. I like this. The feel of it seems somewhat ambivalent as if the speaker is not too sure if she or he is ready for April to leave, yet bidding it adieu knowing it has to leave. The format is lovely as well. I read the one lined, lines quickly w/ a slow move into the ending stanza. great work, Doug!
